MediaTrip.com To Cast Cheerleading Squads for Revolution Studios' Next Feature Film The New Guy.

Film's Director and Producers to Choose Three Cheerleading Squads and

Rock Band From Online Finalists

This week online entertainment company MediaTrip.com announces the launch of an open online casting call for Revolution Studios' upcoming feature film The New Guy starring DJ Qualls (Road Trip), Eliza Dushku (Bring It On) and Eddie Griffin (Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo).

MediaTrip.com's open casting call which begins this week will give three high school and college cheerleading squads the opportunity to upload their photos and video reels to MediaTrip.com through the interactive artists community at www.mediatrip.com. MediaTrip.com users will vote on all the submissions on the Web site narrowing the list down to the top 30 squads. The top 30 squads will then be asked to create and submit their New Guy cheer which will be reviewed by The New Guy director Ed Decter, executive producers John Strauss and Michael Fottrell, and producers Todd Garner, Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray. The three selected squads who will be given performing roles in the film will be announced on MediaTrip.com on October 20.

MediaTrip.com is also opening up doors for rock-and-roll bands in the film. Bands will submit their band biography and music on MediaTrip.com and the users will vote for the top 30 bands. The film's director and producers will then choose the winning band on October 16.

Men will also have the opportunity to submit their photos and bios on the site for extra roles in the film. MediaTrip.com users will vote on the top 10 and The New Guy producers and directors will select three men to be in the film. In addition, 10 women over the next 10 weeks will be chosen to be extras be in the film The New Guy. MediaTrip.com users will vote each week on a winner from the artist community site who will be given extra roles in the film.

"We had such a great response from our previous online casting project for the film Tomcats that we want to continue to create opportunities for our users to get involved in the making of major motion pictures," said MediaTrip.com CEO Austin Harrison. "This contest broadens the opportunity for both men and women to get involved in the site's community and the casting of a movie."

The open casting call is part of MediaTrip.com's interactive artists community, which showcases artists' work for other users to experience, and exposes them to industry professionals.

The New Guy is a story about a total loser in high school, Jack Harrison (DJ Qualls), who decides to get expelled so he can reinvent himself in a rival school as tough guy "Logan Harris," a.k.a. "The New Guy." His plan works perfectly until a tormentor from his old school figures out what he's done.

The New Guy is a Bedlam Pictures/Revolution Studios production starring DJ Qualls. Ed Decter directs based on an original screenplay by David Kendall. Ed Decter, John Strauss, and Michael Fottrell are executive producers with Todd Garner, Mark Ciardi, and Gordon Gray producing. Sony Pictures will distribute the film.
